Design is essential to our work as an Indian wedding and event planner , whether we are arranging table settings, decorating according to a design theme, or designing mandaps and stages for a Hindi or Jain wedding reception. Anila buys new fabrics, draperies, and other decorations in India and makes sure to have a complete collection and one which includes new trends.

A client once wanted to have a blue theme color for the wedding with white and gold also used. Blue is not a part of Indian weddings traditionally and it is not a color of fabric that we have. But, this was not a problem because we are able to work with a designer who has the color fabric that fits the color that the client wants. Due to many contacts with vendors, we are able to deliver exactly what is wanted. Instead of using blue fabric, an alternative would be to used blue lighting on white fabric, which may be perceived to be more subtle and elegant. It is up to the client to make such a decision; we serve to offer the alternatives.

We are willing and able to design any wedding setup for you, no matter how simple or extravagant. We also do other events and parties as well! We work hard to please and to achieve your unique vision on any budget.

Wedding and Event Organization

We are willing and able to coordinate all essential aspects of the event. We have names of many local vendors to supply each element that you desire. Our team will keep you in the best hands and will lead you in the best direction.

While traditional wedding planners only coordinate all the aspects of the event to flow together, Nirvana Indian wedding and event planner additionally constructs the mandap and stage, brings all decorations, caters the food, and works together with all vendors. While our main focus is on the mandap and the food and these aspects are the majority of what the team works on, we also coordinate other elements. Due to connections in the New Orleans area and experience working with many vendors for many occasions over the years, we are able to help you procure many vendors, including a florist vendor, linen vendor, chair vendor, flower vendor, favor vendor, cake vendor, lighting vendor, photographer, videographer, Mehndi artist, band, second line handkerchief, and many others. All of these vendors know the routine of Indian weddings and can deliver what is expected and much more, making it easier for everyone involved.

Nirvana Indian wedding and event planner also offers a full service of taking care of all of the vendors for each aspect of the wedding and truly coordinating all aspects, for an additional fee due to the extensive work involved. Otherwise, you can hire all of the vendors and coordinate with each if you wish to have a more active role in the process.

We recognize that venue accessibility is a huge part of what makes a wedding successful for each couple and it can vary individually. Please keep in mind that it can be tiresome to have to physically visit each venue and there are often waiting lists associated with the process.

Nirvana Weddings strives to distinguish a wedding from all previous weddings. Due to our great collection of decorations, mandaps, and fabrics, it is possible for us to do so. We recognize that we are catering to the same community for each wedding and that it is essential to make each wedding unique. While the structure will be similar across all weddings, we will strive to make all aspects of your wedding stand out from others with the flowers, linen, fabric, and up-lighting.

It is possible to mix and match mandap accessories to make the experience even more exciting and to transform a normal ballroom into something so vibrant. Up-lighting adds drama to the room and different colors are available and will be selected to match the theme. We work with lighting vendors to accomplish this important aspect.

We have all of these and many more decorations at our disposal. For example, Ganesh accompanies every Hindi wedding because he is an auspicious figure who offers greeting at the entrance and on the stage. The Mehendi Celebration the night before the function will also stand out from others previously done with emphasis on vibrant colors, elegance, and ethnic elements.

Anila Keswani has been planning weddings for 30 years with the goal of bringing a client’s vision to life. Anila is actively involved in everything from reviewing vendor contacts to planning and executing the rehearsal dinner, the wedding ceremony, and even the post-wedding brunch, to assure that everything goes as planned. “I love being challenged. I can never have enough back up plans.” She is tactful, diplomatic, and a problem solver with abilities that are both unique to our culture and cross-cultural.
